Skunk River Medicine Show Returns to Café Paradiso

Local Fairfield blues luminaries Skunk River Medicine Show, aka guitarist Tom Morgan and bassist George Foster have been charming capacity audiences for decades, as well they should. Tom has been performing finger style acoustic blues and ragtime most of his life, having spent time with legends Reverend Gary Davis, Son House and others when he was a teenager. George taught himself to play the electric bass in his teens, being a big fan of Jack Bruce’s aggressive blues approach. He has since performed and recorded in many styles including pop, jazz, funk, rock, folk, reggae, latin, R&B, psychedelic and country but always remained connected to his blues roots. The combination of Tom’s devotion to the tradition with George’s melodic improv creates magic as they interpret the shiniest gems of the early blues era. They’ll be joined in the second set by Jon Estrin on electric guitar, Eric Hurlin on keys, and Kevin Riley on harmonica.

Doors open at 7:30 – Show at 8pm
